Protecting hardwood flooring requires protecting it from damage by moving furniture. Use furniture coasters or pads under legs to keep sofas, tables, and other movable furniture from scuffing up your new floor.
Stubborn food stains can be removed from most house-finished stains and sealers with a fine grit sandpaper or steel wool followed by reapplying the finish. Check the can of finishing stain or sealer for more detailed instructions on how to maintain the finish. Don’t use an abrasive on prefinished flooring materials.
