As you meet walls you’ll need to trim tiles. Place a new tile over the last full tile. Then place another tile above it but against the wall and a 1/4-in. spacer. Next, use the edge of the top tile to mark the one below it, the one in the middle. The middle board is then trimmed at the mark and installed between the bottom board and the wall. The reason for doing it this way is to make sure that the necessary tongue or groove doesn’t get cut, just the unnecessary one at the wall.
Cutting a parquet tile at a wall corner can be a little trickier, but follows the same procedure. Mark the middle tile once for one wall and again for the other wall of the corner. Be careful to use the 1/4-in. spacer against the wall when measuring.
